What direction is your life headed? Are you at the helm or are the winds of change blowing you all over the place? Today my husband suggested that I write about destiny and setting our course for success.
The most important aspect of our destiny is our belief system about it. Do you believe it is a set of events which will inevitably happen or do you believe you are the creator of it. I would suggest to you that in fact science has proven that the very observation of our lives alters the course of them. We know that certain stimuli (especially in early childhood) have dramatic effect upon our development. Our development is the foundation of our perspective. Our perspective is the single most important factor contributing to all other aspects of our experience in life. For this reason I am confident we chart the course of our own lives.
So, if my assertion is true then what are the requisite skills for us to be a good “sailor”. I believe it can be easily summed up in one word, we all want to “SAIL” through life.
S – is for setting direction
We do not need to have a final destination in life but it is necessary for us to understand and create the direction in which we are moving. As we set direction we increase our belief in it and naturally begin to describe and relate more to it. Remember to set the 4 directions, forward, back, within and without. I will write more on this in another article.
A – is for asking for support and help along the way.
Our journey is not solitary nor does it take place in a void. Even space we increasingly understand is not a void. If we cannot name it and ask for it then we truly to do not believe we deserve it. Name and ask for what you want in life.
I – is for imagination.
In order to achieve our destiny we must move beyond the thoughts and concepts that exist now in our lives. The tool we are given to help us is our imagination. Everything that has been created started off as an idea in someone’s imagination. Use imagination to paint detail onto the canvas of your destiny.
L – is for living fully
Our destiny is only truly fulfilled when we experience and express it. By fully living in each moment we reap the benefit of what we sow. Are all moments joyous? No, but when they are not they set in motion our deeper understanding for the next time joy arrives. Embrace all aspects of life fully to achieve your destiny and then and only then will you truly build the life you love to live.
