Sometimes we carry baggage from our past around because we think it will help us. After all, they are good memories. We are mistaken. They will not help us and they distract us from this moment now. Baggage is simply extra weight and just like at the airport, it is going to cost us to bring it along. The truth is we can set it down anytime we want and walk away.
And I am not just talking about our own baggage. Sometimes we pick up others baggage and carry it along with us as well. When we believe our problems are created by another for example. Situations, events and life happen. How we celebrate it, revile it, dread it or embed it is our choice. No one has dominion over us. We are the lords of our own salvation and conversely we are the devils of our own destruction.
Yikes. That is scary. We are the “devils of our own destruction”. Wow, those are powerful words and if you were raised, as I was, in a Judeo, Christian, Muslim tradition they can carry even more weight. But that weight is not reality. That weight is only the thought of fear. And fear has power because it is vague and hard to grasp. Get clear to let go of fear.
We have the power, the faith and get the glory in our own lives. We are the centre of our own universe, not in a selfish way but because we choose to be self-aware. We are our own great creator. This is not blasphemous, this is truthfulness. Religion is the first step in building the faith of humanity. To begin we needed a framework from which to build our spiritual selves. It is only the beginning and we are poised for our collective spiritual development to transcend organized religion. We need to let go of limiting thoughts which are rule based. We no longer need a manufactured collective conscience we have a direct conduit in the universal consciousness. The freedom of the human race depends upon complete freedom, of thought and beliefs.
So today, rejoice in the fact you are free to choose the life you love to live. And when you choose it make sure that it does not infringe upon the freedom of another. Remember our freedom ends where an-others begins. We are in this together. We do not stand alone and we do not ever need to walk alone. Together we have and will continue to build a world where humanity can thrive.
