I have a predilection to answer “yes” when I am asked to do anything and it has lead to some of the most interesting and rewarding times of my life. You might say I have put faith in the power of yes.

When I met my now husband Pedro in Cuba and he asked if I would like to join him for coffee, I said, “yes”. When he asked if I would like to keep in contact with him, I said, “yes. We just celebrated our third anniversary and it has been the most rewarding relationship of my life even though it has not always been easy.

When they came to me at my office this week and asked if I would help people learn our new computer system, I said, “yes”. I have often said yes to training others and what has always happened, is that I learned way more than I would have if I had not agreed. Learning is one of my three key life elements (laughing, loving and learning) and so it is always rewarding for me to learn new things and then help others to learn them also.

For me, each and everyday I begin it with an orientation to yes. Yes, I will have fun today. Yes, I will learn today. Yes, today will be a great day for me. This simple word has been one of the most effective tools I have used to enjoy life. So if you find yourself thinking you want more money, love, interests or people in your life, then just try saying yes to everyone about everything, and before you know it you will find the universe is saying yes to you as well.
