Each of us is deserving of the best life has to offer. It is provided to us but we must accept the gift, cherish it and then release it.

Enjoyment of life comes from being present in each moment. That means we cannot be distracted from where we are with where we are not and yet so many of us carry many things moment to moment.

Here is a short exercise to try right now to see if you are truly capable of staying in the moment. There is a photograph of a butterfly delicately perched upon blossom. Look closely at the photo. Allow your mind to really see and explore everything about this photo. Pretend this photo is in a contest. You are the judge of the contest and the prize at stake is $250,000. If this photo is perfect you and you alone will award the photographer the cheque. It is entirely up to you. Now look at the photo through those eyes.

What happened? The answers do not lie here. The answers lie within you. I do not have your answers but you do. I have my answers and can tell you what happened for me in case it might help you understand or relate to what happened for you.

First I noticed the one antennae was so long. It felt like he could read the atmosphere. Then I notice the beautiful rich brown of his wings and then noticed the white was so pristine and bright that it was glowing. I saw the white as the wings of an angel. Then I recognized I was the angel. I felt like I had these wings and I could fly. Then my mind went to the flower and I realized I was happy exactly where I was. The color pink was so vibrant in contrast to the green which appears pale and almost lifeless. I wanted to touch the pink. Then I noticed I could smell the flower. I think I was smelling lavender but that did not matter. The smell was fantastic and I closed my eyes. Then I felt at peace and noticed my breathing and continued to relax. Then a thought crossed my mind. Today my life is beautiful. Today I will celebrate it. And that was the end of my vision and this is the end of this story.
