There are many valuable gifts that I was given by my parents. Some they are probably aware they bestowed and others they may not have known were important to me still influence me today.
My mother took up belly dancing when she was a middle aged woman, probably close in age to my age now. She thought it was healthful and I think also fun and probably a nice sexual gift for my father as well. How wonderful that she approached life with this energy. I am her son. I also have a passion for living and find that I do not restrict myself from undertaking new things later in life.
When there is something holding us back from achieving new and interesting aspects of our lives we need to reach inside and find the inner wisdom to take on new activities in life. We are never to old to try on new ideas. We must not give ourselves restrictions when we were born to freedom.
Look at this photo. She does not have a perfect body but she has a perfect attitude. In the final analysis it is our attitude towards life which creates our enjoyment (or lack thereof). Look at her stance. She is putting her all into it. She has taken up the role and is going to play it out fully. This is the way we need to approach our life. Not with reserve but with reckless abandon. And I do mean reckless, because chances are if you are like me “reckless” will not be all that daring and so there is no need to worry about excess or danger.
So today ask yourself. What part of my life am I engaged in with reckless abandon? And if you cannot think of one, then choose one. And if you are having trouble choosing one then write various aspects of your life down on pieces of paper. Put the paper into a bowl and then choose one. Have no fear the universe will always conspire to create the perfect answer for us. Go for it and let me know by leaving a comment of what happened to you. I would like to hear your experience and perhaps some other readers would as well.
