As surely as physics provides the basis to turn water into hydro-electric power, choice provides the basis for our transformation.
The most interesting part of transformation to me is not what we become, nor even necessarily what we were before, it is the process of the transformation itself.
The key word is “change” and I like to create an acronym often to help me better understand and more deeply embody a spiritual concept that I am exploring. So this is the story of change for Brad.
C is for Choice. My choice. My conscious choice. I strive to deeply understand my choice. I do not delay in choosing either, understanding does not necessarily take a lot of time but I find it is a good exercise to uncover the meaning behind my choice.
H is for Happiness. I am not talking fun here, I am talking that I choose to be happy with my choice. What is the benefit to me to make a choice and then be unhappy with it? If I am not happy with a choice, I make another, I do not linger in resentment or unhappiness.
A is for Adaptable. Once I have made my choice I am open to explore it fully. I am open to all the possibilities my choice will allow. From my openness comes a sense of wonderment which in turn opens my imagination. I adapt myself to my new experience.
N is for New Beginnings. I actively seek what is new for me. I am ready for the transformation and it comes from embracing the newness. New feelings, new thoughts, new people, new places, new ideas. All offer me something.
G is for Goodness. I seek to express the good in the newness. I step quickly and without pause or comment over that which I do not enjoy in my transformation so that I have the time and mental and emotional capacity to fully explore everything that is good about my transformation. I do not allow negative thoughts or judgments to impair my new beginning. I do not ignore them I choose to move beyond them.
E is for Experience it. In order for me to fully enjoy my transformation I must experience it. To ensure my conscious experience I notice, share with others, involve myself and really engage in the experience.
There is only one person living my life and it is me and it is a good life and so it is.
