What’s your talent?

Everyone’s got talent. If you do not have an answer to this question then you do not know yourself. That’s right folks. You were given a talent. All of us were.

Now I am not suggesting that you become, say a dolphin trainer (see how cleverly I worked the photo in…grin). I am suggesting that you uncover that special part of you and bring it out to share with the world.

So how do you find your talent? How do you know what is the gift you are to share with the world and those around you? It is something that comes naturally to you. It is something that you enjoy.

Does having a talent mean you are the absolute best in the world at it? Maybe or maybe not but it does mean that it is something you are naturally gifted with and can do well. Does it mean that you will always stand out in a crowd or that people will comment on your talent and appreciate you for it. Sometimes and sometimes not but that should not stop you pursuing it with wild abandon.

Actually wild abandon is often the key to unlocking our talent. It is not really important what your talent is or how good you get at using it. What really  matters is that you use it and appreciate the gift. You may know the saying “its the thought that counts”. Well regarding your talent it is using it that counts.

And you may have more than one and you may have varying degrees of many things. How many and how good is not nearly as important as how often you use it. In fact you will find with most talents that the more you use it the better you become.

If you are having trouble spotting your own talent then ask another. Often it is easier to see in another what we have difficulty seeing in ourselves but I promise you this. You already have a gift. It was freely given. It is a gift that keeps on giving to you and to those around you so please bring it out today and share it with the rest of us.
