One day there was a pinnacle in my life and so I thought to climb it. The difficult thing was not the climb and when I reached the pinnacle I realized I had not yet achieved my goal. I stood at the top. I marveled at my accomplishment. I gazed out to the horizon. But who was I?
“I” was created as part of a two person team called “I am”. This was extremely helpful to me as without “Am”, “I” am lost. I only exists as a singular line on the page but once “Am” arrived suddenly there was meaning to my life.
The wonderful thing about “Am” is that he is both small and HUGE at the same time. Two little letters that pack a universe of meaning into them. And the other wonderful thing is that “Am” always answers yes to everything and so I am free to discover everything and anything without any restrictions from him. Sometimes I wish that “Am” would clearly state “no” to me but he refuses to do so. He says that creation is his nature and comes from the fountain of YES.
The other thing that is both interesting and frightening at the same time is that “Am” will also leave me alone anytime I want. If I head off in a new direction he does not feel compelled to follow me. Of course without “Am” I find it exceedingly difficult to really explore and impossible to discover meaning and begin to feel like an out of place vowel so I try to invite him along everywhere I go.
“Am” tells me that he is somewhat omnipresent even when apparently invisible and in fact accompanies each of us on our journeys every-time that he is invited. I was mistaken when I said he does not follow, in fact he shadows me wherever I go. He is always there for me.
What is interesting is that he says he often has a lot of time on his hands because apparently some of us have a tendency to either ignore him or even try to escape, which is of course impossible but apparently some of us have learned to wear blinders so we cannot see “Am” even though he is there.
Well it has been nice to have this little chat with you but I can hear “Am” calling me which is always so amusing since clearly my name is “I” and I have told him this many times. I hope that you enjoy your relationship with “Am” as much as I do. Oh and he said to say “hi” and asked me to remind you that together we can build a life we love to live.
