The truth is that everything we experience in life is something that we have chosen to create. Whether it is conscious choice or not is the only question that can be difficult to accept let alone answer. Why else would we create things like the breakup of a relationship we desired or a stay in the hospital as we experience disease.
New Thought is a very courageous choice for us as individuals because it puts the responsibility for what is in our lives on our shoulders. This is not to say we should see it as a burden, because in fact it is a gift and one that we can be grateful to have chosen to receive.
In Science of Mind, Dr. Ernest Holmes philosophized that each of us “lives in the shadow of a mighty Mind, a pure intelligence and a Divine givingness.” The truth is that in fact we are both the giver and the receiver. We embody and experience that which we can conceive we are worthy to receive. It is our worthiness that stops us from accepting more abundance, love, money, health and fitness into our lives. Does that mean we should blame ourselves for low self-worth? Absolutely not! At all times and in everyway each of us is doing our very best and making the right and perfect choices for ourselves. The fact we do not like some of the choices we makes is part and parcel of the perfect way to make new and different ones.
