Be your own venerable sage…

Let me be entirely truthful with you. When I was making an acronym from the word LOVE I was struggling to find the right word for the “V”. Venerable was the word I chose and today I want to explain why I think it is important and what it means to me.

A “venerable sage” is to me a wise person who is respected and revered for their opinion. Often someone is venerated by reason of their age but I believe there are as many wise youth as wise seniors. We may or may not choose to gain wisdom as we age, we equally can choose intolerance, indifference or impatience as well. But within each of us is the ability to access our wisdom and I put it to you that you have the choice to do so at anytime and from anyplace. Each of us is the conduit to wisdom if we choose to  be it. And that is what I am really writing about here today. The importance of being our own wise sage. The importance of using wisdom in our day to day living experiences.

I believe that all wisdom comes from a central repository of the universal mind and that is why we see it repeated in so many languages, cultures and religions. These “universal truths” resonate at a different frequency in our minds and bodies and so we have and continue to repeat them, down through the ages. They have been taught to us and told to us. They are our lessons and our legends. Now is the time where we must embrace them and embody them. We can and will be the wise sage of our own lives, it is our destiny.

Wisdom is when our thought releases, rejuvenates or replaces a limitation with an inspiration. Each of has had wise thoughts. Each of us is wise at some times with some things. The challenge in our lives is to accept wisdom into our lives even when it means we must change something which is difficult for us to do. The challenge is to grow and nurture our own access to wisdom.

We know when alcohol or drugs or compulsion is driving us. We know when it does not serve us and in fact has become a place to retreat or hide. We know it but we must call upon our wisdom to act differently. Wisdom does not judge us or justify us. We must use our wisdom to turn away from that which hurts us.

We know when we are not practicing our hearts desire or following our spirits longing. We know it but we must call upon our wisdom to know what to do to change our lives and make new choices. Wisdom will give us the strength and the support. We must use our wisdom to turn towards that which honours us.

So today as you read this allow your inner sage to guide you. Celebrate your conduit to wisdom by allowing your revelations to come to light. We have the ability. We have the support. And we have the wisdom to know the path to choose to reach our highest goals. We do not need luck we only need to listen to our inner sage. After all if we do not listen to ourselves who will ever want or need to listen to us.
