There is nothing more powerful than an open mind nor more beautiful than an open heart. “O” is the second letter of our acronym LOVE.

Each us is born with the most wonderful gift created in the universe. It is our ability to think. Our mind is an amazing electrochemical engine for storing, processing, combining and creating thought. But the magic, for me, comes not from the physical brain although it is fascinating. The magic comes from our ability to create.

We are the creators of our own lives and the central force of this creation is our mind. Our mind is the repository of thoughts. Our mind reveals our fears. Our mind releases our bravery. Our mind is in control of our body. And our mind is part of the larger consciousness of the universe because it is a creation of the universe. While we are separate we are all also of One Mind. This joining together of the human family into one interconnected framework is like the internet. Or rather the internet is like one mind. There are millions of thoughts, all appearing helter-skelter and yet all joined together and creating a collective consciousness and awareness. Our ability to work together, to listen to one another and to be open to new concepts, ideas, approaches and solutions is in fact what creates all our inventions.

An open heart is simply our ability to change thoughts into feelings and relate to one another. Without relating we do not join together. Without joining together we will not create the synergy required for our greatest achievements. Even our greatest thinkers will tell you they were inspired, informed and challenged by others, their families, their peers or perhaps even a nemesis. We are one group. We are a collective and in order to succeed we must join together.

This is true on the microcosmic level as it is on the macrocosmic. It is necessary we help each other to succeed. In fact I would say that it is necessary to our survival. If we individuate too much the fabric of the human family will begin to fray.

So today I will make some time to be open to new ideas. I will open my heart to another and let them in. I will share more of my thoughts and feelings in a way that contributes to the success of the world. For as the world succeeds so shall each within it. And as I open to others I shall search for others who want to share as well and together we will continue to build a better world.
