Jesus is a verb…

My husband shared with me a song this morning that is popular in Spanish. The title is Jesus is a verb and not substantive. Now that does not translate all that well into english. When he first gave me all the words in english using a translator I found the meaning was slightly obscured and then the more we talked about it the more clear it became.

The vast majority of Spanish people are in fact following the Roman Catholic tradition which is the original belief of those who now call themselves Christians. The song is written to help them understand the meaning behind the man. The primary thought is that Jesus is not a label, it is not a name, it is a concept that lives within each person on earth who acts a certain way. It does not require religion, it does not require ritual, it does not require wealth, it does not require anything other than the inspiration to be the best we can be. And I thought to myself this is the story of Christ that I was taught as a child in the United Church of Canada.

What appeals to me most about this inspirational Christ is it is free from judgement, unencumbered by religion and allows each of us to accept and express as we desire. Now I realize that this is not necessarily easy for my friends who are Muslim, Jewish, Agnostic or even Atheist and so I thought of a way to include everyone. It is not about a Christ consciousness. It is about a consciousness within ourselves of being the best we can be and so I have created this acronym for anyone to accept Christ without the need to embrace Christianity.

C – conscious living

H – healed and helping to heal others

R – renewed every day

I – inspired to acts of greatness

S – serene when faced with conflict

T – tolerant of all difference

This is the world I want to live in. This is the society I want to forge. This is the life I choose to love and live each day. If you are a believer in this version of humanity then together I forecast we can do more than all the technology ever created or yet to come.

My vision is a world where conflict is communicated and used to stimulate personal freedom and expression for all humankind. My mandate is to reduce conflict using love as my primary tool. My life's work is to learn and then share my learning with others. I am supported by a wonderful loving husband named Pedro, a loving family and many friends. I derive income from helping my clients build and protect their prosperity .
