In every life a light will shine. In every life a piece of peace. These two thoughts form an excellent foundation to begin each day. Even on the cloudiest day we know the sun shines above in our solar system. Even in the deepest war zone there are people at peace. The choice is ours.

Have you ever really examined the clouds on an overcast day. Where I live there is a lot of marine cloud (on the ocean) and often in the early morning it is overcast but rarely is it grey during the summer. In fact if you look closely you can even see blue through the clouds. They will be gone before noon. I believe the same is true of our own lives. If we look closely we can see the beauty through the clouds and they will be gone before we know it.

Peace might be a slightly more challenging task. What is peace? In this instance and for today (remember choice abounds) I choose to have it mean a life lived with a sigh. That deep sigh of contentment that comes for me at the end of a day when I arrive and see my husband and he turns and smiles at me and suddenly I realize in that moment that my life is perfect and I am the luckiest man on the planet. I am complete. My life is divine. That is my definition of peace for today. And so the underpinnings of peace are in fact my recognition of it and gratitude for it.

So today, if we are experiencing any “greyness” then we must allow ourselves to search out the faint glimmer of blue skies that exists beyond our clouds and then we will have the strength and courage to recognize and be grateful for the peace which is always available to us just for the asking. Remember to live the life you love to live today and everyday.
