Inspire or expire, the choice is ours…

When you look at the photo what do you see? Is it a scene of decay wherein the colors are caused by the absence of life giving sap or do you see nature in a spectacular display of its cycle?

Neither perspective is more correct than the other. Neither perspective is “better than the other”. The perspectives are different and the perspectives lend themselves towards different experiences. Display or decay? Which is your choice? The most important aspect is in fact to be consciously aware that both exist so we in fact are exercising choice.

If we are not aware of the multitude of choices available to us we may not in fact celebrate our choices as much as we could. All humans alive today for example have decided not to end their own lives. Ending our life is always a choice. The fact we do not make this choice is in fact at a very basic level the celebration of life. We value our life and so we choose to safeguard it. This is important and should be celebrated. I do not make light of it. I make it explicit and bring it into our conscious awareness.

What other choices have you made in your own life which you may not explicitly name or celebrate? Perhaps it is time to bring them out and celebrate them with conscious awareness. To help you in this process here are some of mine:

I love where I live. I appreciate and celebrate it many times during a week. It happens to be the most expensive city in the world in relationship to earnings and yet I regularly stop for a minute and allow myself to be captivated by the awesome beauty and majesty surrounding the city I call my home. I have been gifted with nature.

I was raised in a group of loving, sharing individuals. It was not always easy living with them but I acknowledge and celebrate the gifts I was given by my mother, father and brothers. I have an enquiring mind, life excites me, I love to laugh, I think of others not just myself, I enjoy material quality in my life without sacrificing relationships with others. These are important gifts I was given.

I love my work and it also has been very challenging to me . Although I am an entrepreneur I have many supports and people to help me in my work. It makes my primary focus of work to better understand my clients and deliver what they want and need to love the life they live. The people around me share their gifts and talents openly and in order to help me succeed. My environment is more collaborative than competitive even though I am at the pinnacle of capitalistic endeavours.

I hope that today you will choose to see some of the gifts that have been offered within your own life. Perhaps you could take more advantage of them. Perhaps you might just enjoy celebrating them for a moment. But in all cases, to be consciously aware and grateful for what I have, where I am and how I got here will always help me love the life I live.
