As is always the case in our lives we have dominion over how our day is going to feel to us. When we open our eyes first thing in the morning we start to make our choices.
I normally smile each morning when I wake up. It is my habit and my choice. I take a moment to enjoy returning to conscious living. I think of my husband and then I get out of bed. It is a warm, inviting and invigorating way to start the day. I believe it can be important for our well being that we establish healthy and positive routines in our lives. I try to always keep business out of my head for at least 30 minutes when I awaken during the business week. It is not that I am not excited and interested, it is that I must centre myself into life first in order to have a clear head and grounded business perspective for my clients.
As a financial planner one of my most important activities is to help people remove their fears and replace them with specific, achievable financial goals. Having a balanced emotional outlook everyday is important to me helping my clients develop balance emotions towards their financial fitness as well. This is true in all the areas of our lives.
So today, if you have not already done so, create a positive emotional awakening for how you want to begin your day. Map it out. Keep it beside your bed and then start training yourself to begin each day with a positive mental outlook. It always feels good to get up on the right side of the bed. And so it is.
