On a wing and a prayer…

Winging it. Coming home on a wing and a prayer. These two statements have more than one thing in common. Both of them are strong statements of faith. It is our faith that sustains us. It is our faith which encourages us. It is our faith which propels us to great heights.

So the key questions are: In what do I have faith? And how much faith do I have? Everyone. 100% of humans previously born (that includes us) or ever to be born, have faith. The issue is never that we do not have faith. We all, always have faith. In what do we put our faith? How much faith do we put in it? What is our choice when we have a crisis of faith? These are the real questions that we must answer if we are to have the life we love to live.

I put my faith in the immutable (unchangeable) law of attraction. I like this particular belief for two reasons. First it puts me at the centre of my spiritual practice, in other words I am not sitting on the sidelines waiting for some external deity or power to respond to me. Second, I  have seen it proven many times over. Whatever I believe I receive. Believe to receive. It seems balanced. It puts life into perspective. I have seen it in my own life. I can and do receive to the extent I believe.

I remember when I was a child I asked my Dad if he thought I would be rich one day. He answered it is likely that you will have more money than I do. It is likely you will drive a better car than I do. When I asked him why this was so he replied “because what you have today seems normal to you and part of the human condition is to strive to better ourselves”. How wise my father was and remains today. In fact we do create in our lives what we believe we should receive. If you were born to a family with resources you know how to find and use resources.

So today, change your mental equivalent. Make sure you believe that you can receive all the abundance the world has to offer. Believe you can receive the life you love to live. And what you believe, you will soon discover is what you can and will receive. And so it is.
